Fly-in, fly-out
Agnew Gold Mine comprises New Holland and Waroonga, both of which are underground operations 23 km west of Leinster and employ more than 600 staff and contractors. Each year it produces more than 200,000 ounces of gold.
The majority of Agnew’s 650-strong workforce live permanently in Perth and commute to site on a fly-in, fly-out roster. Agnew offers a suite of services to its workforce including:
- free gym,
- a wet mess and
- outdoor sports facilities.
Agnew also boasts a new accommodation camp and solar plus wind renewable energy farm. It is just over an hour flight from Perth or a 20-minute drive from Leinster. Employees fly to site on a chartered jet departing Perth Airport’s Terminal 2 twice weekly.
Most graduate and professional roles operate on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. Other rosters in operation include 4 days on, 3 days off; or 8 days on, 6 days off; 7 nights on, 7 days off, however these are typically for management or production employees.
