Agnew gold mine - Key developments and material issues

Extension of the current life-of-mine is a critical focus area for Agnew in 2018 based on the following activities:

  • Extensional and resource definition drilling at Waroonga North, FBH and Sheba addressing the short to medium-term
  • Early-stage exploration across the broader tenement package to generate new mining options in the longer term
  • The discovery of the extension to the Waroonga North deposit from 1035 level to 520 level is significant in supporting short- to medium-term life extension
  • Attain economic levels of production from Waroonga North by the end of 2018 and grow the lower Waroonga North Reserve through further resource extension drilling
  • Evaluation of remnant mining opportunities across the mine is continuing from previous work in 2016
  • Further assessment of the open pit potential was progressed in 2017 with a pre-feasibility study including 450 South, Claudius and Maria completed with a resultant addition to Reserves. A dedicated team continues to assess all incremental and value accretive opportunities to contribute to the short to medium-term mill feed
  • The reserve grew for the first time in seven years
