For the eighth consecutive year Gold Fields has received the Socially Responsible Company badge in recognition of its contribution to sustainable development in the country.

The Peru 2021 organisation, which promotes sustainable development in Peru, and the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI), awarded us the Socially Responsible Company (ESR) 2019-2020 distinction, in recognition of our strong sustainable development practices in our communities, sound corporate governance, human resource practices, environmental management, and commitment to safety and occupational health.

The evaluations are based on criteria aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In particular it assesses its contribution to  the development of the areas in which it operates, whether it is working to high standards of safety and commitment to the environment, and, above all, that it recognises the value contributed by its employees, communities and investors.

"A socially responsible company maintains and shares a comprehensive vision for the present and the future, demonstrating its positive contribution in all areas. At Gold Fields we always work hard to achieve our management goals and we are excited to earn this recognition for the eighth year in a row. It is a credit to all employees of Gold Fields and motivates us to continue improving,"comments Rafael Sáenz, Communications Manager of Gold Fields in Peru.
