Gold Fields continues to donate protective equipment to fight COVID-19

Gold Fields, in coordination with the authorities, health centers and communities of Hualgayoc, continues to fight  the spread of the Covid-19 virus in its host communities.

The company this week donated further equipment to the communities of Las Tingo and Cuadratura, the Hualgayoc and Bambamarca health centers, as well as various local governments in the area.

At the same time, Gold Fields has delivered sprayers to the Hualgayoc and Bambamarca city councils to enable the disinfection of streets, avenues, markets, and other public and private facilities.

Continuous support in the fight against Covid-19

Since the pandemic started our Cerro Corona mine has been joining hands with the regional, provincial and district authorities to prevent the spread of the coronavirus and contribute to improving the quality of medical care for all residents in Cajamarca province.

Since the confinement began, Gold Fields has contributed to equipping the ICU ward of the Simón Bolívar Hospital in Cajamarca, thus helping to provide better care for Cajamarca patients infected with the virus.

The company, in coordination with the COER Cajamarca, also delivered more than 100 boxes of masks and gloves for the personnel of the National Police of Peru, the Peruvian Army, as well as the medical staff in quarantine facilities in the province.

As part of the  National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy, Gold Fields also contributed to the delivery of 500,000 rapid tests to the Ministry of Health.
