Gold Fields this week won the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) / Chartered Secretaries reporting awards for our 2016 Integrated Annual Report.

We finished ahead of Anglo American Platinum and Kumba who won the large-cap and mid-cap categories respectively. (Scroll down for JSE’s full rankings.)

The Integrated Report is our most critical report in terms of giving our stakeholders, particularly shareholders, a comprehensive picture of how we have created value for them over the past year and how we plan to create value in years to come. This is not just limited to financial performance and returns but also our impact on our societal stakeholders and environment.

In commenting on Gold Fields’ performance the judges said: “As the economic environment becomes ever more uncertain and disrupted, and the expectations of business and other organisations ever more demanding, more transparency in reporting is needed. Only organisations, such as the leading reporters here led by Gold Fields, who are able to capture the information that is most relevant to their specific strategy and how they are progressing will be able to build stakeholder confidence.”

In terms of reporting awards this year, Gold Fields has won the mining category of the Investment Analysts Society reporting awards and ranked in the Excellent Category of EY’s 2016 awards.
