Gold Fields Ghana Foundation has rolled out US$1.53 million in healthcare and social infrastructure projects for four communities in the Prestea-Huni-Valley Municipality, impacted by mining operations. The initiative includes a renovated maternity block at the Abosso Health Centre, accommodations for healthcare staff, a community center, and improved town roads, aiming to create enduring value beyond mining. Executive Vice President Joshua Mortoti emphasized the importance of maintenance for the sustainability of these projects, amidst concerns over mismanagement of past initiatives.

Gold Fields Ghana Foundation's investment reflects a strategic approach to corporate social responsibility, focusing on health, education, and infrastructure to foster community development. With 69% of the foundation's spending directed towards infrastructure, the new projects are expected to significantly improve quality of life and healthcare access in the targeted communities.
