This project serves children under five years of age and involves mothers and pregnant women in the community of Vista Alegre Alto and Hualgayoc.
Health is a fundamental component in people's quality of life. Access to optimal nutritional care contributes to well-being and human development.
For this reason, Gold Fields, assuming its commitment to the well-being of the communities and in alliance with Cáritas del Perú, the Hualgayoc Health Center and the involvement of the District Municipality of Hualgayoc; They launched the project "Health care and nutrition in children under five years of age" in the district of Hualgayoc, Cajamarca.
This initiative allows the child population of these localities to receive a nutrition program to improve the quality of life of minors. Likewise, it offers training so that mothers and expectant mothers acquire knowledge to improve the care of their children, in addition to medical supplies and specialized furniture.
It should be noted that the project was carried out in the community of Vista Alegre Alto and in the city of Hualgayoc. During the project closing ceremony, the mothers provided a detailed explanation about foods of animal and plant origin rich in iron, and highlighted the importance of vitamin "C" for its optimal absorption.
This demonstrates the empowerment of mothers in matters of nutrition and their commitment to providing a balanced and healthy diet to their children.

There were 50 women and pregnant women beneficiaries, who participated in this closing together with the technical team of Cáritas Diocesana de Cajamarca and representatives of Gold Fields. The project has contributed to the reduction of anemia in children under 5 years of age and the strengthening of nutritional education in the community.
In this way, Gold Fields remains committed to safeguarding the health of its communities, establishing an innovative intervention model that enhances the nutritional quality of the children of Hualgayoc, contributing to sustainable development for all.
