More than 100 young people have received scholarships for technical and/or university studies in order to contribute to the professional development and employability of the area.
Education provides young people with the necessary tools to develop their skills, knowledge and talents, allowing them to overcome challenges and challenges to reach their maximum academic and work potential. Thus, within the framework of International Youth Day, the main objective is to promote educational skills for this group of people who want to excel and prosper in their constantly changing environment.
In this sense, the Gold Fields mining company, assuming its commitment to contribute to quality education for the youth of its communities in the Hualgayoc district, carries out training courses associated with the sector, as well as grants scholarships to strengthen their technical and of the students, which are considered as success stories in the youth population.
Transforming lives through education
From 2010 to the present, the company has been developing its Gold Fields Scholarship Program, aimed at outstanding II.EE students in its direct area of ​​influence. This initiative has benefited more than 100 young people by promoting access to education in the El Tingo and Joaquín Bernal schools, respectively, in the Hualgayoc-Cajamarca district.
For this 2023, there are 25 young people who were trained in higher careers such as Law, Engineering, Accounting, Psychology, Administration, among other specialties at the Universidad Privada del Norte-UPN in Cajamarca.
Training by CEDEPAS NORTE and SENSICO
For its part, Gold Fields, in coordination with the authorities of its Area of ​​Direct Influence and the Workers' Association in Hualgayoc, CEDEPAS Norte and its strategic ally SENCICO, developed the "Yellow Line Operators Training" course to raise the level of employability and technical skills of the youth of Hualgayoc.
It should be noted that these trainings were associated with the management of excavator and dump truck operations, in which 402 theoretical and practical hours were contemplated, where the favored young people also received monthly bonuses from the mining company, during the first three months of the course.
In this way, Gold Fields is committed to improving skills and the learning process in a safe and responsible way, as well as guaranteeing a prosperous future work.
