More than 600 people at the Cerro Corona operation participated in environmental activities carried out by the mining company.
Gold Fields assuming its commitment to the environment, develops actions to protect and preserve its natural environment. For this reason, the Environment and Tailings management carried out its Environmental Week where a series of activities and dynamics were carried out, highlighting the company’s environmental policy.
The most outstanding activities included a green film cycle, bingo, a regional environmental conversation with leaders from Peru and Chile, talent contests, stands, Tik Tok, drawing and painting with environmental protection themes, as well as an environmental parade and guided tours of the tailings deposit.

Gold Fields Sustainability Workshops
Within the framework of these activities, Gold Fields also extended its environmental culture through sustainability workshops.
This initiative consists of creating spaces between communities and Gold Fields collaborators, to share content of educational value for the young men and women of Hualgayoc, in addition to sharing the good practices of the company associated with its commitment to caring for the environment and sustainability.
In this sense, Gold Fields contributes to "creating value that lasts longer than mining" by guaranteeing greater opportunities for relationships with the communities in the area, showing and promoting teamwork and unlocking the potential of young people by strengthening their educational skills.
