The radio game show "Saber para Ganar" financed and produced by Gold Fields is in its eighth season. This is one of the most important projects of the mining company, which aims to promote and strengthen education in the Hualgayoc district through a healthy, free and transparent knowledge competition.
Gold Fields Peru, in coordination with Radio Stereo Hualgayoc, began the eighth season of the radio contest program, Saber para ganar.
For approximately 4 months, 12 teams made up of three students from the last grades of secondary level (3rd, 4th and 5th) and an advisor, compete in search of victory.
This 2023, 04 schools made the commitment to participate in the contest program: Joaquín Bernal from Hualgayoc, Inca Garcilaso de la Vega from Vista Alegre, Alfonso Diaz Atalaya from Tranca de Pújupe and El Tingo, from the community of the same name.
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m, two teams put their knowledge to the test by answering questions from the different areas of competence: Gold Fields Contributions, Communication, Science and Technology, History of Peru, and Universal History. Each correctly answered question will award points to the team, giving it the chance to qualify for the following stages of the contest.
This eighth season Gold Fields will reward the first place winners with 4 laptops, one for each team member. For second place, 4 tablets. Prizes will be awarded to the advisors, as well as backpacks and certificates for all participants. The participating Educational Institutions will receive technological equipment for educational use, which will serve to implement and improve their learning resources.
The transparency of the contest will be certified by 02 juries: Miguel Angel Villoslada Lucano representative of the Educational Delegation of the Hualgayoc district and Julio Cesar Salazar Barrantes director of the Centennial School Noé Salvador Zúñiga Gálvez.
Rafael Saenz Raez Manager of Communications and Institutional Relations of the company Gold Fields declared: "08 consecutive years of Saber para Ganar, is truly a joy and a source of pride. This is an effort by all of us who are always thinking that education is the fundamental pillar of development. I hope that this season is successful and that all the teams have the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge".
Every Tuesday and Thursday through the waves of Radio Stereo Hualgayoc, the population of Hualgayoc and its communities have an appointment with the program that rewards knowledge, Know to Win – Together for education.
