Its Cerro Corona operation has been recognized by the Ministry of the Environment, with the Certification of the Peru Carbon Footprint Program, thanks to the reduction of greenhouse gases that has been achieved in recent years.
Within the framework of World Environment Day, the aim is to raise awareness among the population by promoting responsible practices in favor of caring for our planet. For this reason, Gold Fields has been carrying out different projects and actions aligned to contribute to the sustainable management of natural resources.
From its Environment Area, Gold Fields conducted training on the Management of Environmental Incidents and Solid Waste Management, aimed at its collaborators and contractors in order to reinforce good practices within its mining operation.
"These sessions allowed us to share knowledge and participate actively addressing these issues that strengthen our environmental management"commented Lady Castillo, Senior Environmental Engineer, who led these trainings with the support of the Mining Area.
Each of these trainings provides staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out operations in a sustainable manner, reducing negative impacts on the natural environment.
