Gold Fields executes the project “Health care and nutrition in children under five years of age”.
Access to health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being. For this reason, Gold Fields, assuming its commitment to the well-being of its neighbors, and in alliance with Cáritas del Perú, the Hualgayoc Health Center, and the District Municipality of Hualgayoc have launched the project “Health care and nutrition in children under five years of age”.
This initiative consists of improving the health, nutrition and development system of girls and boys under 5 years of age and pregnant mothers, training them in nutrition and personal health care in order to improve eating habits in the population.
Among the key activities, the following are being implemented: healthy practices for the care, feeding and hygiene of pregnant mothers, follow-up home visits for family counseling and prevention of diseases in mothers and infants, and improving their development capacity adequately.
The project “Health care and nutrition in children under five years old” has been developed in the Vista Alegre Alto hamlet and the city of Hualgayoc, managing to strengthen the learning skills and quality of life of the beneficiary families.
In this way, Gold Fields contributes to improving the quality of life of its communities through health and nutrition care for children under 5 years of age and pregnant mothers. With this, it seeks to protect health and meet social and environmental needs to build an intervention model to improve the nutrition of children in Hualgayoc, contributing to sustainable development for all.
