Gold Fields names Daniel Diez as Chile country manager - Rumbo Minero

Daniel Diez is a mining engineer with 22 years of professional experience that includes operations, project development, and consulting. Luis Rivera, EVP Americas, and Max Combes, Project Director, announced the appointment of Daniel Diez as country manager for Chile.

Thus, they specified that Daniel Diez will begin to perform this new role from March 1, 2022.

They also indicated that Max Combes, who previously served as country director and director of the Salares Norte project, will be able to focus primarily on bringing the Salares Norte project in early 2023.

The miner also highlighted that Daniel Diez's role will be to ensure that Gold Fields has strong relationships with the main stakeholders in Chile.

As well as strengthening the brand and presence of Gold Fields in Chile.

"Like Max, Daniel will report directly to Luis Rivera," the statement said.

Profile Daniel Diez is a mining engineer with 22 years of experience in the industry; He has an MBA and a project management certificate from Stanford University.

In addition, his professional experience includes operations, project development and consulting.

He has previously worked for Teck Resources, Antofagasta PLC, Xstrata Copper, McKinsey & Co. and Yamana Gold.

Daniel was also Project Director and President of the MARA Project in Argentina before joining Gold Fields.
