Mike joined Gold Fields as CEO on 1 January 2024, based at the Corporate Office in Johannesburg. Following an early career in industrial services Mike joined the mining sector in 2001 in BHP’s human resources department. He rose through the ranks at BHP to head the Mozal Aluminium Smelter project in Mozambique in 2009 and thereafter was appointed the group’s President Human Resources, based in Melbourne.

When BHP created South32 in 2015, Mike became President and Chief Operating Officer of its global aluminium, nickel and South African manganese and energy coal businesses. In 2022, he was appointed CEO of Chaarat Gold, an AIM-listed junior gold miner, a position he held until his appointment to Gold Fields.

Alex became Gold Fields full-time CFO and Executive Director on 1 March 2025, after having acted as Interim CFO since April 2024. He joined Gold Fields in 2014, focusing on SOX and technical accounting work in the Finance Department. After gaining wider experience, he was promoted to VP Corporate Finance in 2022, responsible for the funding requirements of the Group. Prior to Gold Fields, Alex Dall worked at KPMG, where he completed his articles in the energy and natural resources department.

Francois was appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer on 1 September 2025. His career with Gold Fields spans more than 30 years during which he held various operational, technical and project roles at several of our assets in Australia, Chile, Ghana, Peru and South Africa. He played a pivotal part in the conception, design and more recently the ramp-up of the high-altitude Salares Norte mine in Chile. He was appointed as Chief Technical Officer in 2023, a position which he held until his transition to COO.

Ms Carter is a dual-qualified lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in both the UK and Australia, with an extensive background across the gold and nickel sectors. With complimentary experience in commercial and corporate affairs management in the mining sector, she is also currently Chair of the Gold Industry Group, an industry association that seeks to promote the Australian gold sector, having been a director since 2016.

In her twelve years with Gold Fields, Ms Carter has held the roles of Vice President: Legal and Compliance, and Vice President: Legal & Corporate Affairs as part of the Australian regional executive team. As Gold Fields’ Executive Vice President and Group Head of Legal and Compliance, she leads a global legal team responsible for all legal and governance matters across the group.

Mr Mokoatle is a geologist with over 27 years' experience in the mining industry. He joined Gold Fields in October 2017 as General Manager for South Deep and became Executive Vice President for the Gold Fields South Africa on 1 June 2023 after serving as acting EVP since 1 July 2022.

Prior to joining Gold Fields, Mr Mokoatle spent seven years with AngloGold Ashanti and 15 years with De Beers, where he was the Head of MRM and Technical Services before taking on the role as a General Manager for the Voorspoed and Venetia mines.

He is a trustee for the South Deep Education Trust, South Deep Community Trust and the South Deep Joint Venture Rehabilitation Trust.

Mariette was appointed to the position of Executive Vice President: Sustainable Development on 1 June 2024 and became Executive Vice President: People and Sustainability from 17 March 2025. She joined us from South32, where she was Vice President of Health and Safety Culture and also led the Group Risk & Assurance and Group Supply functions. In a career spanning 28 years, Ms Steyn has held various operating and functional leadership positions at AngloGold Ashanti, Samancor Chrome, BHP, and most recently, South32. Geographically she has worked in Australia, Southern Africa and the Americas.

Ms Magagula joined Gold Fields on 1 September 2023 from African Rainbow Minerals (ARM), where she was the Executive Director: Investor Relations and New Business Development. Jongisa started at ARM in 2009, as the Head of Investor Relations. Her role expanded over the years as she took on additional responsibilities, including business development. She was appointed to the ARM Board in December 2019. Prior to ARM, Ms Magagula worked in the mining division at Absa Capital.

Chris joined Gold Fields as EVP Strategy and Corporate Development on 1 September 2024. He is an experienced global investment banking professional and capital markets executive, who has been involved in many of the transformative transactions in the mining industry over the past 20 years. Prior to joining Gold Fields, he was Global Head of Mining at CIBC Capital Markets where he led a global team with offices in the major mining centres around the world. Chris started his investment banking career at Morgan Stanley, where he held numerous positions in New York, London and Toronto.

Jason is a Mining Engineer (Bachelor of Engineering (Hons)) from University of NSW with 30 years of mining industry experience. Jason has over 20 years of experience with Gold Fields, most recently as Vice President – Mining & Long-Term Planning where he was responsible for the Group Operating Plans and Reserve Competent Person across the Gold Fields Portfolio. His prior experience includes senior positions across Gold Fields.

Jason brings extensive operational and technical experience leadership across open pit and underground operations across Gold, Copper, Nickel and Iron Ore Mines in diverse operating models.
