Four long-life mines with a solid pipeline of projects: The cornerstone of our portfolio

Our portfolio in Australia’s Goldfields region comprises low-cost, long-life mines with a strong pipeline of projects to ensure mineral reserve replacement and life extension.

Mines

  • Agnew: 2 underground operations
    Life-of-mine (LOM): 5 years
  • Granny Smith: 2 underground operations
    LOM: 11 years
  • Gruyere (JV with Gold Road Resources): 5 open-pit operations
    LOM: 10 years
  • St Ives: 4 underground and 7 open-pit operations
    LOM: 8 years

Mining greener

  • Renewable energy (solar and/or wind) is an important part of the electricity mix at Agnew, Granny Smith, and Gruyere
  • Construction of Gold Fields’ largest renewable project (solar and wind) in progress at St Ives

Communities

We have signed two Native Title Agreements with Indigenous Australian groups, who are the determined Native Title holders of areas that include our St Ives and Gruyere mines. These agreements result in significant value being delivered to Indigenous Peoples through compensation payments and other initiatives and benefits. Native Title agreement negotiations for our other mines are ongoing
